Schizophrenia risk factors...? |
I'm trying to find information comparing the use of different kinds of drugs and getting schizophrenia and i cant find any information thats not about marijuana or smoking. Can anyone point me in the direction of some studies of hallucinagins and schizophrenia and maybe some other types of drugs? Thanks The first answer didn't make any sense to me how it was written (Idk maybe im just dumb) and didn't contain any type of answer to my question at all. try not to do that it doesnt really help at all to give an answer not answering the question... The title of your question and the text implies that you are trying to find information about the relationship between hallucingenic drug use and schizophrenia. The use of street drugs is always dangerous, drug induced psychosis, addiction, and all dangerous behaviors that lead to many diseases, be evaluated to see why you want to use drugs, may have a problem. If you look up Bi - Polar you will be lead to info for schizophrenia. Try www.revolutionhealth.com if i am understanding you question alright you might try going to webmd and just going online under schizophrenia. i found alot of information when i was diagnosed. and it was fairly easy to understand, if you are looking for a good med for schizophrenia ask your doctor about seroquel. it is an excellent one and the side affects are not too bad. i take 700 mgs per day and it keeps me fairly well under control. Try typing in hallucinogens and schizophrenia into google. I got a ton of hits including psychiatric research. Having worked in healthcare for many years I can tell you that there is definitely a connection with schizophrenia in young adults and what is called polysubstance abuse. These individuals have a history of abusing "street drugs", usually a variety of them. The difficulty in diagnosis is that many people with mental illnesses will "self medicate" to try to avoid the symptoms. It is important to note when the symptoms first manifested, i,e. were they prior to the drug abuse or after? There is no question in the scientific community that drug abuse is related to abnormal brain chemistry. Try: type the following into Yahoo! web search for lead in links to answers for your question. |
