Scars after microsurgery for varicocele (sub-inguinal incision) - how bad is it?

Greetings, I will be having microsurgery to repair varicoceles in my left and right testicles soon due to pain in the scrotum and groin area. The approach used will be sub-inguinal (1.5 inch angled incision located about 1.5 inch over top of penis and 1 inch on either side).

I'm pretty self-conscious about my body and am wondering if anyone has had this surgery before and can tell me a bit about the kind of scar I should expect to have to deal with after it. Doc says the scar will most likely fade about a year after the surgery and will be covered by pubic hair. I absolutely hate the idea of having two (one for each testicle) scars in such an intimate area, and I suspect my girlfriend feels the same although she "doesn't mind". Can someone who's had this surgery tell me what to expect? Also, are there any cosmetic procedures I could have after the surgery to minimize the appearance of the scars?

Thanks you so much in advance.

THE SCAR WILL BE SO SMALL EVEN YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE FINDING IT I KNOW I HAVE HAD A VASECTOMY AND YOU RELAY HAVE TO LOOK HARD TO FIND IT
