I have a question about body scars?

i have scars from all types of things, from getting hurt, from cutting (don't comment please) and mostly from picking scabs, and from body piercings. (nose but it's not too noticable and belly button, not noticable either) my problem is i want to go into the acting industry, but i don't know if my scars will be a problem.
i have bad scars on my wrist, my legs, and i have a scar from surgery on my arm.

all this can be covered with make up, but i don't know, advice on this can really help
or if you have any suggestions on how to get rid of these stubborn scars.

ps i have no severe acne scars on my face.

I think that doesn't matter! It depends on your acting and your personality. I'm an actress also, and nobody cares about my scars. Just don't make such a big deal outta've it. Be pleased with who you are.

Good Luck, maybe I'll work with you one day.

u can get some type of sergery for them or they sell certain creams to make them go away for a few hours

You could try looking scar medication up on the Internet or buy some at your local store. There is some really good medication out there for scars and I'm sure that one of them will work. Good luck with your acting. I am in the buisness myself and am loving it. The most important thing to remember is to be yourself. Who knows? You might become famous and the scars might be the something special that people will remember you by if you are in movies.

Good Luck!!!

Why try to hide scars when they are so beautiful. I have this big one on my arm from when i got drunk at a party and fell on a beer bottle. that one is my favorite because it turns purple when it is cold.

Most people have a few scars after a few years of living. Some people have a tendancy to have scars that are more noticable than others (i.e. keloid scars). If the scar is fairly fresh you can often get some vitamin E oil and rub it in the scar area on a regular basis to reduce the size and visibility of the scar. However, this will normally not remove them entirely. Some folks try plastic surgery but I would not recommend that unless there is some significant disfigurement. Most likely you are more concerned about the scars than other people will be. I would say be yourself and wear your scars as a badge of honor from the years of life you have seen so far. Most folks will appreciate you for just being you and if they don't it's probably not the kind of people you want to be spending your time with anyway.

there are laser treatments and other surgery options to remove scars (speak to your doctor), and using lotions such as cocoa butter, or bio-oil decrease the apperance, sometimes quite alot.
i dont believe that your scars will effect an acting career, its your acting they should be concerned with, and they can change/cover up anything on screen these days, and if you've got talent then go for it and all the best to you.
