Purple scars?????

i waz attacked by a dog last year and it left deep scars on my leg. latley i've been noticing that they turned purple and the skin around my scars is numb. yesterday i waz really embarised in skool cuz i waz wearing a skirt, and everyone saw i had PURPLE scars!
what causes this, and how can i get rid of this!
i waz 13 when the dog bit me, i had 23 stitches, and they eventually got infected if that helps anything.

Depending on how long the infection lasted, etc, it is possible you are developing keloid scarring or it could be something else (like another infection).

--This is probably one of those things that should be seen by a doctor in person (call and make an appointment!), not some schmo like me over the internet.--

A dermatologist would have good knowledge of such things. Explain the situation to the secretary and see if they can squeeze you in the next couple of weeks.

Try not to be embarrassed, show your friends how your body is having a party trying to heal! Or wear pants.
