Is scarlet fever serious?

My 1 year old cousin got scarlet fever and im scared! Could she die?? any help would be appreciated

yes, scarlet fever is very serious, and some people die of it. (srry)
its highly contagious, so i'd advise you to be carful around your cousin. you should keep your fingernails short to avoid damage on your cousin's skin, and you could let her eat soft foods and drink cool liquids, especially when her throat hurts.

Antibiotics will cure it. Before antibiotics were invented it was very serious

It's not serious if your treated with antibiotics. I see kids with it all the time that have strep throat. Your cousin will be just fine!
