Sisters family has Scarlet Fever, How can I help?

My sister, her husband, and two girls, age 2 1/2 yrs & 7 yrs all have scarlet fever. I want to go check on them & take them soup,but I don't want to bring it back to my family. If I wear a medical mask & use gel hand sanitizer on my face, hands & arms when I leave there will I be safe? I know it is hard to take care of your child while you are sick.

mask, gown and gloves would provide you complete protection, for security purposes you coul just wash your hands after leaving their place and change your clothes too. this is called universal precautions, good luck
