How bad can Scarlet Fever get in children? How fast does it spread?

Scarlet Fever is a serious strep infection, that is bacterial. It can cause heart manage and in extreme cases, it can be fatal.

It is not a good idea to just wait and see how it goes. A child with Scarlet Fever needs to be on antibiotics, ASAP! Back in the days when there were no antibiotics, a house with someone with Scarlet Fever was quarantined with all the family in it. I think for about 10 days but I'm not sure. I would have to check that.

My son had it at about 1 year old. They kept him in hospital for a few days with ultra violet light on him.
