Treatmenst and how SCARLET FEVER is spread?

looked for it on the web but it said it was similar to trep throat and vis versa

Scarletina is an exotoxin-mediated disease caused by Group A streptococcal infection that occurs most often in association with a sore throat and rarely with impetigo or other streptococcal infections. It is characterized by sore throat, fever and a rash over the upper body that may spread to cover almost the entire body. Scarlet fever is not rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever is the autoimmune disease that occurs after infection with Group A strep that causes damage to the heart valves.

Antibiotic treatment

I had scarlet fever when I was 19, and I went to the emergency room, got a shot of Benadryl, got nausea medication (Phenergan) nad rested for about a week. I recovered nicely. It is very important to go to a doctor though, because it can get into your heart and cause infection inside your heart.

Scarlet fever results from a strep infection that was not properly treated. Other diseases, including heart complications can result from an untreated strep infection. You can spread strep, but to my knowledge, you can't spread scarlet fever. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here, nursing school was a long time ago.

Scarlet fever is transmitted as droplet infection - by air.
Treatment:1. General:

2.Specific:
Then Antibiotics

scarlet is the same bacteria that causes type of bacteria that causes strep throat (streptococcus pyogenes) except that the s. pyogenes becomes infected by a virus itself; which makes the bacteria secrete a toxin that destroys blood cells, which gives you the scarlet appearance and the join aches. so basically its strep throat on steroids, usually treated the pretty much the same way, with antibiotics like amoxiciillin, other penicillins, cephalexins, etc.
