What are the symptoms of scarlet fever?
The most common symptoms of scarlet fever are:

A rash first appears as tiny red bumps on the chest and abdomen. This rash may then spread all over the body. It looks like a sunburn and feels like a rough piece of sandpaper. It is usually redder in the arm pits and groin areas. The rash lasts about 2-5 days. After the rash is gone, often the skin on the tips of the fingers and toes begins to peel.
The face is flushed with a pale area around the lips.
The throat is very red and sore. It can have white or yellow patches.
A fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit (38.3 degrees Celsius) or higher is common. Chills are often seen with the fever.
Glands in the neck are often swollen.
A whitish coating can appear on the surface of the tongue. The tongue itself looks like a strawberry because the normal bumps on the tongue look bigger.

Other less common symptoms include:

Nausea and vomiting
Headache
Body aches

dark red all over

You could have done this yourself....

A fever accompanied by a red rash (usually on the face & upper body). It's actually a form of strep throat. It's pretty common in kids

could be the white spots in the mouth, and the area round the mouth very pale. My daughter had it some years back and our very good doctor diagnosed it straight away.

Fear-fox has it all right except the if the strep throat is not treated it goes into scarlet fever then to rheumatic fever which can damage your heart .. call your M.D.

a rash that may look like a bad sun burn with tiny bumps and it may itch. usually on the neck and face first. a reddened sore throat, a fever above 101 fahrenheit and swollen glands in the neck. the tonsils and back of the throat may be covered with a whitish or yellowish coating, or appear red, swollen, and dotted with a whitish or yellowish specks of pus. early infection the tongue may have a whitish or yellowish coating. chills, body aches, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite.

The disease is typically preceded by:

fever
fatigue
sore throat
headache
vomiting
There is a characteristic rash:
fine, red, rough-textured and blanches upon pressure
appears 12鈥?8 hours after the fever
generally starts on the chest, axilla (armpits), and behind the ears
worse in the skin folds
Pastia lines (small linear petechiae) appear and persist after the rash is gone
Scarlet fever also produces a bright red tongue with a "strawberry" appearance.
The area around the mouth is usually pale (circumoral pallor)
After about a week, the skin often desquamates or peels, usually in the groin, axilla, and on tips of fingers and toes

I didn't know what they were and it is coming back apparently. Having read the descriptions of it I do hope that you haven't got it, it sounds awful.
