Scabies!?!?

My doctor just told me that I have scabies (I had horribly itchy fingers/hands/feet, and in b/w my toes and fingers). I'm 38 weeks prego also and they gave me some topical lotion that was safe for me to use.

Other than washing clothing, bedding, and towels in hot water is there anything else I need to sanitize? Mattress, floors, carpets? Also how long does it take scabies symptoms to appear after you "catch" it?

Actually no it can't kill my unborn baby...I already talked to the doctor. Its just causing me incredible discomfort, but thanks for not even answering my question and trying to scare me.

First off, I am not a doctor, but for what I know, scabies is like crabs, they thrive around water. Scabies can also be transmitted through the water. I know people that got them from bathtubs, toilets, sinks, hot tubs, etc. You should really sanitize all of the water sources in and around your house. Hope I helped.

I am also assuming that the bumps from scabies appears right away because they immediately start to get under your skin.

I feel like i shouldn't even be answering this question... just offering my support, and reading your updates...

anyways, I'm sorry these people are just putting you down for trying to take care of yourself and your baby. And you did really good by talking to your doctor about the harm it could cause to your baby, and how to help combat this. They shouldn't be putting you down for this, you don't deserve that.

Maybe like a week. It is really common in your elbows and under your knees. Throw away toothbrushes and get new ones.

There is NOTHING that causes my skin to crawl more than scabies... (I'm actually scratching as I write this) and it is so avoidable because it comes from being a dirty person and/or living in filth.

I feel sorry for you... and it very possibly could kill your baby.
