Can Scabies look like pimples ? |
My dermatologist told me I had Scabies. I was horrified because I have excellent hygeine and I'm not poor and don't live in unsanitary conditions. I sleep with my cat that is always itching but doesn't have fleas. He reassured me that you can't get Scabies from your pets. Anyways, I have the Scabies on my back and all over my breasts and upper torso. They are hard, red bumps and alot of them have what looks like a whitehead. I squeezed some and white stuff came out that looked like what comes out of a whitehead. They scab and get crusty. Does this sound like Scabies? They are itchy but not intolerable. I also don't have them in the webs of my fingers and toes that is so common. My bf who sleeps with me shows no signs and I thought they were very catching! I have tried 3 rounds of the prescription cream and have still had these for 2 months. Is there something stronger? Also, should I boil my bedding, towels, and clothes rather than just warm water? Would tanning help? I was just wondering if the warmth of the tanning bed would help. It wouldn't hurt to try, would it? Also, is it 100% that pets can't give people Scabies? Can Scabies live in your carpeting or drapes and what about matresses? Yeas ago, my mother came home with scabies after a hospital stay. She did not have them between her fingers and toes, only on her torso. They appeared as red bumps and some with a small streak alongside. As I recall, it was a very long time before they all died off. Scabies is not from a lack of hygiene or living in unsanitary conditions and is very contagious. You and your boyfriend should see a medical doctor. You should wash every thing and talk to a vet about your cat. I picked up scabies from handling saw dust, it was bad. The itching drove me nuts, between my fingers were all infected and my inner legs not my toes. They were like you described pimply like. Scabies is usually not on your back or scalp. They are very itchy and are every where else. You could have an allergy to detergent or it sounds like it could be from shampoo or conditioner. Have you been useing anything different? I would go to a different dr. It couldnt hurt. Call your health dept. They will usually see someone with possible scabies because it is highly contagious. yes and tanning bed wouldn't help maybe make it worse for sure possible spreading it to others, My husbands is a dr and may/ may not have brought it home from a patient once. I't sucks you have to clean all you clothes with hot water and hot dryer, clean whole house as if you had lice. If you cant wash a jacket or pillows you need to tie in a bag and keep for a period of time i can't remeber but i think we did for 2-3 wks. Before all this go get a lotion at pharmacy called KEWALLADA-P put all over you body from head to toes, and anyone in contact with you SHOULD do all the same or you will get it again.I steam cleaned everything and my couches and carpet. You cannot use your bed for 48 or 72 hours and was bedding in hot water and dry atleast 20 min. Really it isn't easy to get rid of GOOD LUCK Animal scabies (Sarcoptic mange) not infrequently attacks human beings, especially the owners of affected lap dogs or cats, and grooms attending mangy horses. There is no incubation period, the disease occurring immediately the parasite is transferred to the human skin. The burrows characteristic of human scabies are not found, the eruption being a small red popular rash which affects the arms or other parts which have been in contact with the infected animal. Sometimes the eruption is very profuse and widespread. The best place to find the acarus (a genus of arthropods, including mites) is the point of elbow. When the source of infection is detected and cut off the disease tend to die out of itself, but treatment with benzyl benzoate or gamma benzene hexachloride should always be instituted. Does the cat have missing hair and the same symptoms as your describing? Scabies is called MANGE in the animal world. |
