Is it scabies or not?

I have this intense itchy rash. It didn't begin until my hubby rubbed this lotion all over me. (I got this lotion at the dollar store) As soon as he began rubbing the lotion on me it instantly started burning and itching intensly. It looks and acts like scabies. Now it is all over my body. So far no one else has gotten it. I called my doctor and he was out of town, so I had to go to another doctor. He took one look at it and said it was scabies, he gave me the medicine for scabies, (which made it worse). I went to my regular doctor when he got back, and he said that it wasn't scabies and there's no way it could have been because everyone that was near me never got it. And gave me anti itch medicine and told me to take oatmeal baths. I am confused. What do you think?

Sounds like it is an allergy to something in the lotion you used. I assume your doctor gave you a steroid cream (cortisone). Use that and take an antihistamine such as Claritin. Should start clearing up in a day or so--make sure you washed it all off.

It sounds like you have had an allergic reaction to something in the lotion. Could you have gotten a chemical burn by mixing household chemicals when cleaning? If this happened, then lotions will make the burn flare up and burn and itch. My brother-in-law had one, and it went through his whole body even though he only got the chemicals on his hands.
Scabies are extremely itchy, but they don't burn unless you have scratched them raw. They are also highly contagious.
