Scabies-need help!!!? |
Please let me know, if you had scabies and what did you use? I went to my doctor and got prescription cream but he still very itchy I had looked up on the internet to buy something else maybe more aggressive but there are 4-5 products before I spend any money on something that may not help please let me know which one did you try and did help you. Thanks. Thanks but I did get permethrin from my doctor. I had washed all my bedding vacuumed the sofa and all carpets and washed the sofa covered, and washed the towels. Ok,I just rid of them out of my house so I know what you're going through. You're going to itch for awhile after using the cream because your body is still responding to the dead mites and stuff so that normal. I used that and sprayed my whole house(couch, floors, ect) with that lice killing spray.I broke again behind my legs.I caught scabies from the kid I babysit for and she told me how she bought dermisil S and it worked really good. I bought the the liquid stuff to put in the bath and on clothes, the cream, and the spray stuff to spray the house again. After the first night, I COULD SLEEP AGAIN. It was great. It's rather pricey and it all smells like crap(it's hard to get the smell out of your clothes for awhile) but it works. eeeeewwww.... scabies..... Call your doctor and tell him the prescription didn't work and see if he can prescribe something more effective instead of taking non-doctor's advice on the internet. the stuff the dr gave you is prolly the best, maybe a nix (lice treatment) to get rid of the scabies, benadryl will help with the itching, talk to your doc though Elimite or another cream with permethrin is the only thing I know of that will kill the mites that cause scabies. When you use it, you MUST use it over your entire body. You must also wash your bed linen daily in hot water (preferably with bleach) to kill the ones there. Be sure to vacuum your upholstered furniture, and any carpet, and throw the bag away afterward. You'll need to do this for at least three days in a row to be able to affect the population of mites. Many people don't know that scabies and dog mange are pretty much the same thing. I got scabies from my dog! It was a nightmare. There is no itching like it. I tried everything. I ended up spraying the whole house with Raid. I even dabbed a little bit of it on the spots on me and the dog. It was the only thing that worked. I had tried all the prescription meds. I am certainly not recommending it, just letting you know how bad it was for me to get rid of. |
