Question about scabies? |
I had scabies about 4 months ago and I believe the treatment did work, but every 3 or 4 weeks I'll have this intense itch for like 1-2days (it only lasts for a minute or so). Does anyone know what this is? Am I just being paranoid, or is there still some irritation going on? I know its not the same itch I had when I was initially diagnosed with scabies b/c that itch was something I couldn't even describe...I would just stay up for hours crying and scratching b/c I itched so bad that I couldn't sleep. Yeah, I did all of that disinfecting, and I still do it periodically b/c I'm super paranoid about getting it again! I' m not sure if your dr mentioned it, but to get rid of scabies you have to disinfect your whole house, boil your clothes or throw them out, because scabies is highly contagious. Also you have to make sure that bed sheets, pillows, etc are washed with hot , hot water. and most of all always take at least 2 baths a day, that will be 100% effective against re-infection. goodluck, hope this helps. |
