I'm just curious, should we vacuum the floor and furniture and things like that, and if so should we do it before or after we put on the medication? Would I need to clean other things, books, remote controls, things of the sort? Throw everything in the wash on the hottest temperature. Medicate, then vacuum and treat your furniture with a spray of vinegar and water. It wouldn't hurt to launder all your clothing with bleach and then put it through a hot dryer. Otherwise the Permethrin should work just fine. The Red Book (Report of the Committee of Infectious Diseases of the American Adacemy of Pediatrics) recommends that bedding and clothes worn next to the skin for the four days prior to treatment be laundered in hot water and dried using a hot cycle. Clothes that cannot be laundered should be bagged for a minimun of four days. Scabies cannot live longer than this without a blood meal.) |
