Scabies-how is this possible?

I had contracted scabies from a co worker- at first i thought i wasnt going to get it but it took several weeks for me to start having the symptoms(i didnt realize that as i knew nothing about them) anyway that was 2 mths ago and my question is how is it possibe that my b/f has not got them?? I read up on it a bit and it says it is very contagious and all people in the household need to be treated-he was not treated and still does not have them---is it even possible for me to have been in contact with him all that time before and after i got them-because i hear before you even start the symptoms you are contagious and him to not get them?? I am very confused and cant find any info that says anything about people not getting them--its all that if you have contact they are spread to that person--any thoughts or info is appreciated

I would think that some people would not get scabies just like some people don't get bitten by chiggers or mosquitos.

Scabies is a mite that burrows underneath the skin. Maybe the mite just doesn't like his type of skin.

I contracted this like over 6-7 years ago with my ex. His friend had it and it is very cantagious. I had to use medication and wash all my sheet and towels...everything!!!
I had to put the cream all over my body!!! It was the worst thing ever...
it goes away though...

well i had scabies before and the doctor told me everyone needed to be treated because even if it doesnt show everyone has it.. so everyone in my house was treated .. except my mom. because she the kinds person that thinks she doesnt need to do something. turned out she didnt get it scabies even tho she didn't even get treated. . its weird but true

Scabies like any other parasite are dependant on its host to survive. If the host is imcompatable to the parasite, it cannot attach itself to the host. Apparently your boyfriend is one of the lucky few that is not compatable.
