Been treated 4X for scabies w/ointments & oral meds. Washed all things constantly. No one else in family has it

Doctors haven't been positive it's scabies, but everything I read points to it. I've slept on an air mattress. My husband was treated once when I first was treated. He had no symptoms ever and still has none even though I've battled with this for 5 months. My 13 and 11 year old daughters have no symptoms. We've bought all new bed clothes. I'm going crazy. Is there such a thing as a resistant strain of scabies. I'm on my second dermatologist who is a specialist. Had expanded patch testing. Diagnosed as atopic dermatitis/excyma. I really believe these are bites on my body. Nothing between fingers or under arms or around nipples. Especially bad on back, neck & shoulders. Arms and front of legs as well. Active places move around, calms down in other areas. Worse at night and after shower. HELP!

I will support the diagnosis of eczema....the dermatologist gave you. Go with it and accept the treatment(s) he suggests to you. You might even need some steroids. You have treated the "idea" of scabies for five months and the treatments can be caustic to the skin over time. Those treatments may now be part of your problem. Give the dermatologist a chance....heck...give yourself the chance to heal.

There is an oral medication called ivermectin that the doctor can prescribe. Good luck!

I had scabies over 20 years ago. It was caused by contact with mice when I worked as stock clerk. If you have pets it could have transfered on to them. Since it is only on your torso, mice could be getting at your bed clothes while they are still in the drawer or could have been on the folding table where you fold your clothes after washing them. When doing a laundry, disinfect every surface your clothes will make contact with. Get those super large storage bags or even those space bags and store your freshly laundered clothing in it. Use liquid soap rather than bar soap. You may be just allergic to animal dander and what not.

They could still be bites...do you have any pets, maybe it's flea bites? perhaps an Allergist should be consulted as well to do some allergy testing.

GOOD NEWS FOR YA MY TWO NIECES HAVE THE SAME EXACT RASH ITS NT O SCABIES OR DONT SOUND LIKE IT ANYWAY, YOU SHOULD TRY DREFT LAUNDRY SOAP ITS HYPOALLERGENIC , GO TO THE DRUG STORE AND GET AVEENO OATMEAL BATH USE IT IN WARM WATER SIT THERE FOR A BIT DONT USE SOAP WITH THIS STUFF YOU DONT NEED TO IT CLEANSE ITSELF , ITS NOT EXPENSIVE AND WORKS , THEN GET SOME HYDROCORTISONE CREAM AND SPRAY AND PUT IT ON BEFORE YOU LAY DOWNTO SLEEP , MAKE SURE YOU WASH ALL YOUR BED CLOTHES IN BLEACH OR COLOR SAFE BLEACH , IT GETS ANYTHING OUT THAT MAY BE IN THERE . IF YOU LIVE WHERE IT IS COLD THAT IS WHAT THE RASH IS NO KIDDING MY TWO NIECES ARE ALLERGIC TO SNOW , RAIN , ACID RAIN THEY GET THE RASH MAINLY ON THIER BELLYIES UNDER THIER CHIN NECK AND LEGS BUT NOT ARMPITS OR VITAL AREAS . THESE THINGS WORK FOR THEM HOPE IT WORKS OUT FOR YA .

u see ,usually scabies mites lives on the skin making burrows and eggs..there are 2 points of inflammations female mites make..one is the entry point and other is the outing point..they produce fluid tht makes our skin inflammed due to the allerg reaction to it..
usually the mites prefer to make burrows between fingers and genital areas..
so it seemed ur case might not be the scabies
as they also spread fast among family memebers who live together and closely associated..afterall,after scrapings are made if we see them under microscope we can find the mites in the burrows or their eggs..
Yes they itches at night but our body regulates hormones too that make higher sensitivity to allergents at night ..plus warm bath causes blood vessels to dilate on the skin surface, thus producing more release of mediators tht causes itchiness and inflammtions..
Perhaps u needed more opinions on the diagnosis..or else it s pointless to medicate yourself with the wrong methods..
I think it s most probably not scabies perhaps some other problems tht u are having..it s best to consult other dermatologists..
as scabies arent difficult to spot at the clinics
