Paediatric Sarcoma Cancer Specialist in Uk?

Can anyone recommend a great paediatric Sarcoma Cancer Specialist in the UK? My friends 11 year old has a rare Clear Cell Sarcoma Cancer and there is no faith at all in the consultant he has. We are looking to refer to another one, anywhere in the uk. Please contact urgently if you have any information. many thanks.

Your friend may want to consider contacting the Royal Marsden Hospital.

According to their web site, their Sarcoma unit "is recognized world-wide for its strength in diagnosing and treating sarcoma".

There's a biography listing for their Sarcoma Unit on this page:

Best of luck to your friend!

I'm happy to help. Give my best to your friend's family. Report It

I don't know if you will see this or not, but there is also a Sarcoma UK group that can guide you to better local information. Please check with:

Best of luck. Report It

i can tell yu only one good news to you. most of the paediatric sarcomas are self limiting. may go bless ur frnd

Have you tried doing a web search? And I do hear that the Queen's medical Hospital in Nottingham has a good reputation.

Sorry I can't be of any more help. I'm so sorry about your friend's little boy.x

Try St.Thomas Hospital in London, apart from that I don't know. Good Luck to your friend and her child.

You can check with the Sarcoma Alliance which has lists of sarcoma centers all over the world.

Sarcoma is a rare cancer and requires a specialist in the disease. Unfortunately because it is so rare it is difficult to find specialists. You might try posting on the Sarcoma Alliance bulletin board for help. Also the Sarcoma and Ped Onc listserv email groups are international. You can find help that way:

SARCOMA: The General Sarcoma (Cancer) Online Support Group

ACOR: Ped-Onc

Best to you.

You should try contacting the Sick Kids Hospitals in other countries or the medical associations, etc. Call different hospitals and ask for their oncology (cancer) departments and ask the nurses, etc. Usually by word of mouth you will come to know who is the best and these are the people who would know.

My son had cancer too and he is cured. Best of luck to your friend. Kids are extremely resilient. Keep them positive and hopeful all the time.
