Kaposi's Sarcoma???!!?

Hello, the last time I had unprotected sex was 4 1/2 years ago. Is it likely that I am HIV+ and developed Kaposi's Sarcoma so soon? I've read that Kaposi's Sarcoma is typically in Male to Male sex and usually starts on the feet or lower legs, and is more frequent in men around the Mediterranean. I am hetrosexual and hispanic/white. Sometimes when I drink I'll give myself a "party tap" where me and a friend put a cigarette between our arms and rub it till it goes out, causing a pretty serious 3rd degree "tap", I have several of them on my upper left arm. However, I have noticed a scar in the same area as my "taps" and do not remember where or when I got it from. It does not help that I am usually drunk when I do these things and don't really remember doing them. This scar is kinda long and a bit darker, kinda like I got burned with the side of a butter. I'm very worried. I guess my question is, how soon does/can Kaposi's Sarcoma develop? I'm being tested for HIV tomorrow.

I was short of breathe a couple weeks ago, but I think that was asthma, I smoke in my room and keep the door closed and the temperature has been steadily below zero, lately. I vaccummed and aired out my room and I've been better since. This happened last year at this time with similar situations. Other than that, I've been sick maybe 2 times with a mild cold in the past year or so. Other than that I seem to be healthy (other than my smoking/drinking habits).

You're a little ahead of yourself. If you have a "real" sarcoma, then you likely would already have AIDS, not just HIV, and you would probably know it from illness before the sarcoma develops. Relax, get your test, and for crying out loud...quit drinking! Or at least quit strange masochistic games while drinking. Your choice.

You don't have Kaposi's Sarcoma, but I'm glad you're getting tested for HIV. You don't have that either, but stop having unprotected sex!

Are you having any other symptoms of HIV i'm not an expert or anything but I am sure you would have other symptoms before developing Kaposi's Sarcoma. But from now on try not to burn yourself when you are drunk so you can keep track of what is going on with your skin. I hope you are okay!

Kaposi's Sarcoma doesn't happen until you have aids.I have been positive for 6 yrs.Last year I got shinles on my foot ankle and leg.See a doctor and good luck with your test.If your negative count your blessings and smarten your life up because this disease has devastatedme.I have to take tranquilizers and anti-depressants,I lost my job of 18 yrs that I made 1500$ at a week.I am now on disability permantley and it's below the poverty line what they pay but I have no choice cause they pay for the 1700$tab for my monthly medication. Please hear me and pray your not positive. If you are prepare yourself because it rips right through you.I went into a state of shock then a terrible depression. So good luck.

While it is unlikely that you have KS, you are an out of control alcoholic who will sooner rather than later do something that will kill you
