Where can I find financial resources for my 12 year old son who has cancer (Ewing Sarcoma)? |
My 12 year old son was just diagnosed with bone cancer (Ewing Sarcoma) I had to take leave of my job, I am a single Mom trying to care for my son, and we are having sever financial difficulties, can you please help, There is an organization that deals solely with Ewing Sarcoma. My brother died of that disease but we went through that 3 years ago and I forget the name of the organization. Try looking into Livestrong funds which were those founded by Lance Armstrong(7 time tour de france champion that survived cancer if you were not aware). Contact the amercian breast cancer society or any organization dealing with cancer and just tell them your situation. There are fund out there. here is also the jimmy fund. I feel so terrible that you are having these difficulties. My brother was so lucky to have been a United States Navy Specialist and did not have to pay a dime for his treatment. I'm sorry that your son has to go through this. I wish you all the best of luck and I hope for a cure for your son. If you need a penpal through this ordeal, my email address is mikeyjp11@yahoo.com. Contact the Ronald McDonald House they will help. Call your local Welfare Department. They can probably guide you on where to get assistance. I would start with your church and then the doctor or hospital billing offices and ask what other people have done to pull through. You also might try library research to see how to get a grant or donations to your cause. Depending on the size of your city, maybe social services can help also. |
