What is different between sarcoma and cancer? sarcoma is a type of cancer.. its the cancer or malignancy of soft tissues ie. those arising from the muscles or connective tissue, usually they arise from the skeletal muscles. and cancer is a disease in which there is an uncontrolled proliferation or increase in number of cells in a particular tissue or organ with the capability to spread to different parts of the body. sarcoma is cancer. A cancer of tissue or supporting tissue A sarcoma (from the Greek 'sark' meaning "flesh") is a cancer of the connective or supportive tissue (bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels) and soft tissue. This is in contrast to carcinomas, which are of epithelial origin (breast, colon, pancreas, and others). There are four main types of cancers sarcoma,carcinoma,lymphoma and leukemia but all of these have a common feature i.e. unlimited and uncontrolled growth of cells and invasiveness.so cancer is a disease which effects any where in our body while sarcoma is a type of cancer which originates from connective tissue only. |
