There is treatment for Ewing's sarcoma. Sucessful treatment will depend on many factors . . the stage of the cancer, the overall health of the patient and his response to first line treatment. All stages of the disease have a treatment plan, but stage IV is the most difficult . . not impossible, just difficult.

Ewing's sarcoma predominately strikes young males but females can also have the disease.

It is essential with sarcoma for the patient to be treated by a sarcoma specialist or at a Sarcoma Center. Ewings is considered to be a pediatic disease and at 15 the patient should ideally be treated in a sarcoma program at a Children's Hospital.

There is a good active supportive group for Ewing's Sarcoma on the ACOR mailing lists. They can provide provide support and information specific to Ewings treatment:

Stay strong. There is always hope.

my brother had ewing sarcoma. it's very serious so do everything as quiclky as you can. find out what needs to be done from the doctor but don't wait as it can spread quickly in the system. my brother was diagonised with that and if he were told sooner his chances would have been better. he died when he was 16. boys are the only ones who get this between the ages of 13- 20. it went from my brothers arm into his bones and it went quickly. find out if you can remove the arm or leg as they told us if we did that he would had survived. ask your doctor for referrals on who to go to and who your doctor would recommend but don't wait as this can spread quickly.
