If you have had sarcoidosis or lymphoma(hodgkins disease)could ya please advise on how it has effected you?

I found i had sarcoidosis about 4 years ago. It manifested as a skin condition that looked similar to Psoriasis. I was checked out and have stayed with the rhumatology dept to try and monitor it. From what i have learnt it is a strange condition that can spontainiously clear up regardles of the medication being taken. This can make it difficult for the medics to know if what they are doing is working well. I was and continue to be treated with immuno supressents such as anti malerials to try and hold down the sarcoid. At the moment it is working ok, or it is in a less active phase who knows! As i am sure you are aware sarcoid can appear in many parts of the body and can mimic other conditions which makes it important to have a thorough check up for anything that you currently have. The effects on myself have been that i have a skin rash that i use steroid cream on and this works well most of the time and that i have a host of other things checked out just in case. I have to visit the rhumatology team every three months for a check up. Thats about it really. I hope this has helped and that you find a way to work with yours.
Trance.

I have been ill for a year with sarcoid. It started as erythema nodosum and i was off work for 4 months.I am getting my strength back gradually but still have chest pains and severe fatigue.I have regular check ups but i am positive i will get better. There is acute sarcoid and chronic sarcoid. If you have the lesser form the doctors reckon it will fade between 1-3 years.Good luck.
