Is there any other medicine besides steroids that can help with sarcoidosis? |
Is there any other medicine besides steroids that can help with sarcoidosis? well, there is no known way to prevent sarcoidosis. but treatment often involves corticosteroids (prednisone) and thats about it. unfortunately, the side effects of steroid use are terrible, the biggest one being weight gain and facial puffiness (weight gain in the face). sometimes people may also develop what looks like acne on the face because of the prednisone. some people may tolerate the steroids very well. your doctor should put you on the lowest possible dose of the steroid to control the symptoms. Don't think so. Unfortunately, since the etiology of this disorder is known, there is little known about how to treat it. |
