Salt......?

You have a friend who likes to put a considerable amount of salt on their food. Is this a habit they should stop or is it basically harmless?

If your friend has high blood pressure, is very old, and/or is overweight then it would be a good idea to refrain from too much salt.

If your friend is normal and healthy then MY OPINION is it is perfectly fine, unless it is really really excessive. All "salt" studies I've seen on healthy people are generally inconclusive.

However, If there is personal or family history of stomach ulcers or stomach cancer then I would be cautious.

Also, hopefully he gets plenty of fluids when he does this !
