Chinese Salt...blood pressure?

My aunt has had a major surgery done last week. she had to get a tumor removed from one of the lobes of her pitiutary gland. she is also a diabetic. she has been directed to not take salt for a while. can we replace the normal salt in her food with chinese salt i.e. monosodium glutamate? is it safe? will it affect her blood pressure?

Salt has not been shown to affect blood pressure. There is no known studies that can confirm salt raising or lowering blood pressure.

High blood pressure is from a vitamin deficiency. 80% of Diabetes type II is caused by a nano bacteria that is normally killed by the stomach acid found in a person's stomach. If your aunt has taken antacids, this will allow the bacteria to multiply and can create the diabetes problem. Additionally, the intestinal flora is another defensive mechanism the body has to kill this bacteria, but most people have taken antibiotics at sometime in their life and not replenished the intestinal flora with a quality probiotic.

Chinese salt or gomashio is cooked sesame seeds with table salt added. The best salt is Pink Sea Salt. This actually promotes good stomach acid production and contains huge amounts of trace minerals and many beneficial things for the body, unlike the bleached nutritionless white table salt from Morton. This should not affect her blood pressure.

Monosodium glutamate is a very dangerous chemical. It has been found to cause lessions in the brain and should be avoided at all costs. It is very toxic to the body.

It also sounds like your aunt as infections in her body that need to be addressed as well as fixing her nutritional deficiencies. I would strongly suggest getting her to purchase some Betaine HCL + Activator, digestive enzyme from a quality source like the one at: www.healthline.cc (not .com). I would suggest she take 4 Betaine HCL, 2 activator, and 2 digestive enzyme after each meal. This will help her start digesting her food and getting the nutrients that will help keep her healthier.

I would also suggest she go to www.roex.com and purchase a container of colostrum powder and mix about 1 teaspoon of this with juice in the morning and at night to stabilize her immune system.

I would also suggest she go to: www.natren.com/ and purchase a 3 in 1 probiotic that will be shipped to her in ice to preserve the freshness of their product.

good luck to you

Good luck to your mother. For her sake, do not believe everything you hear. Some people use big words and technical terms, and claim to have "many years" of experience, but all they are really spreading are urban myths and practices with no basis. Report It

The only way for you to be completely certain is for you to do your own research. Your mother's health is too important for you to be taking the word of just anyone on YA. Quackery is so rampant, and, unfortunately, I think you've been had. Report It

if it has sodium then no she cant have chinese salt. the main reason doctors tell ppl to stay away from salt is because of the sodium

salt will affect high blood pressure , kidney failure and not really gd

Chinese salt is MSG..so many side affects...just google it and you will be suprised..

Monosodium glutamate dissociates into sodium and glutamate. Sodium is bad for her blood pressure. MSG will affect her blood pressure in much the same way as "salt" (NaCl) would. So, no, it is not an appropriate substitute.

Why not try "salt substitutes"? I came across this website www. alsosalt.com . Haven't tried it myself but it might be good...? They also sell substitutes in the groceries. You might want to try something called "Mrs. Dash." You could also try flavoring dishes by adding more herbs and (non-salt) spices.

EDIT: The answer below mine contradicts the guidelines of the American Heart Association. One of the recommended steps for treating high blood pressure is to consume a diet low in salt. http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.j... I don't know where this person gets his information from, but he contradicts the standard of treatment for hypertension then goes on and about "nutritional" advice which probably has no factual basis. Take what he says with a grain of salt (no pun intended).

Hypertension is not caused by a vitamin deficiency.

Diabetes is not caused by a nano bacteria.

MSG is not as toxic as he implies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monosodium_...

You did not state anything in your question that would indicate that your aunt has "infections that need to be addressed."
