Will salt help cramps?

I heard that if you get a charlie horse, or a sudden cramp, pour some salt in your palm and lick it and it will go away. Is this true?

Drink lots of fluids and keep the potassium going in your body. I've been in the Medical Field for over 28 years, and have never heard of such a treatment. Epsom salt soaks will help with the cramping. Good luck and take care!

Salt will cause you to retain water so it could help in a round-about way but the best bet is to drink some water. Cramps are caused my dehydration so make sure you stay hydrated.

quinine is a good cramp reliever for the legs
ask your pharmacist, you can get it in cap form without Rx. they may have you sign a book,
tonic water contains quinine also

Eat a banana. The potasium in bananas help with cramps.
