About swallowing salt water...?

Is it more unhealthy to swallow salt water than to drink no water at all? I know it dehydrates you, but I had an argument with a friend about this. She believes you dehydrates quicker with no water...I say you dehyrate quicker if you drink salt water, whether from the ocean or from water with plain table salt added to it. Can anyone weigh in on this??

And which would be worse: table salt in water or ocean water? Or would it even matter either way...

salt water dehyrates you quicker.

I remember after eating overly salted Chinese - I was desperately thirsty despite of having a glass of soda with a meal. After a normally Chinese, I wouldn't care less.
So, I think salt makes it far worse.
Sea or table? I think it depends on the concentration, not on the type.
