Why am I craving salt ? |
I have always crave salt. I love dill pickles and the juice. I never really use table salt on my food. Sodium is a vital nutrient. If you are deficient, you will crave it. too much water flushes salt out of your body, so your body tells you to take in salt to bring the salinity back to normal A doctor once told me that if our body is craving something in particular its your body telling you its what it needs. I don't know...but I have it too! My parents actually thought I had a salt deficiency when I was a kid. I've learned to cut back on salting my foods, and I use Morton's Salt Substitute when I can. But I still crave pretzels, potato chips and other salty foods. I've just learned that I can't always give in to those cravings. |
