A question about salt & sugar .?

I have read some article suggesting people to avoid sugar & salt. My question is , is sugar & salt won't do any good thing for our health? . In other words, if i completely avoid salt & sugar, will that cause any health problems. OR.. Is usage of salt & sugar gives only taste ..nothing else ?

salt is a mineral that is required by the body, but excessive amounts may cause high blood pressure in some people. Not in all people, just some people. But to be safe, you should use it sparingly.

sugar, if you are talking about refined sugar is empty calories and is only used to make things taste sweeter. It is a carbohydrate which our body already gets enough of in our regular diet, but there are healthier sugars than others. Fructose which is sugar found in fruit and Lactose which is found in dairy products. These sugars are metabolized differently than refined sugar and are good sources of energy. good luck

personally i think anything is not good for you if not eaten or taken in moderate amounts...eliminating sugar and salt from your diet completely is not necessary is what i think..but eatin it in moderate amounts is also necessary

Salt is essential to nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction.Recommended usage of it is low-2400 milligrams per day.Too much can cause high blood pressure.Sugar intake should be limited actually. You don't need to elimate all sugars-just concentrated sweets. Sugar that is in fruits, vegetables and milk are acceptable.

Salt and sugar are part of nutritions. Moderate intake is okay but not excessive just like any other minerals or vitamins. Without may also not be good, as the body needs sugar and salt. However, original or organic salt and sugar would be the better choice.

Bad salt is pure sodium (table salt), which is one molecule from being 'bleach' (sodium hypochlorite). It can cause hypertension in healthy people.
If you must use extra salt for flavoring use 'sea salt', or kelp. Kelp contains most, if not all, of the minerals in proper structure and amounts that work in unison to maintain a healthy body.

Bad sugar is refined white sugar and is devoid of the nutrients your body needs to utilize sugar. It meets the same criteria as narcotics and if it were to be assessed as 'safe' by an unbiased FDA panel, it would not make the first round.
Your body makes good sugar form healthy foods you eat.

The best sources of minerals:
This is why any successful health-building program will include fresh, raw, organically grown fruit and vegetable juices. These foods contain the colloidal and crystalline form of minerals that have been through the microorganism and photosynthesis charging process. Also, Sea vegetables (sea weed) such as dulse, kelp, arame, hijiki, kombu, nori, alaria, etc. are a superior source of abundant minerals. All of the topsoil that was eroded from the land, ended up in the oceans. If you eat plants that grow in the ocean, then you can obtain these plant-derived minerals in a biologically utilizable form.
Sprouted seeds, especially alfalfa seeds, provide an abundance of minerals. The alfalfa plant has deep roots that reach up to 90 feet into the ground and pull in many rare trace elements. Raw spinach has an exceptional amount of minerals. All root vegetables have many minerals. Black-strap molasses can be used to add plant-based minerals that were removed during the refining of sugar cane or sugar beets. Another source of plant derived minerals is available from an area known as Emery County, Utah. Supposedly, a glacier or other cause of earth movement buried a large quantity of vegetative matter, which may have been a dense growth, or a washed-in bog of numerous plants, which is believed to have accumulated over a 600 year period. This material now exists as humic shale. On average, the humic shale is a 30 feet thick layer of prehistoric plant derivatives that was or still is under great pressure from the earth. All of the moisture has been compressed out of the humus. By submerging in pure, cold water, more than 70 plant minerals are leached from this humic shale. The mineral water is taken as a mineral supplement.

Salt is essential for life. Most people greatly exceed the amount needed to sustain life. An intake of 2300 mg of sodium is suggested as the maximum daily intake. The term sugar is a pretty wide ranging term referring to saccharides. It is possible to live without "sugar", or carbohydrate but impractical.
