As I experience,after use of salt solution (salt + water) topically on inflammation site, like insect bite site (hypersensitivity type 1), the itching, redness ans swell will disappear in 10 min.

Salt causes water to evaporate faster. That's why you salt your sidewalks when it snows. This is a guess, however, based on my observation. I'm not a chemist.
