Sars coronavirus is there a cure for this and the avian flu ?

No, there's no cure. Antiviral drugs might help - they are in short supply. A vaccine could be developed, but not until the virus finishes mutating to cause a pandemic. They can't make a vaccine until they have the actual virus.

They are working on "prepandemic vaccines," but it is doubtful that they will work. The first prepandemic vaccine was made for the strain of avian flu in Vietnam in 2004. The virus has mutated several times since then.

Actually a strong immune system will not help you in H5N1 virus - the avian flu currently threatening spreading through Asia, Europe and Africa.

When a healthy child, teenager or young adult gets an H5N1 infection the immune system floods the body with cytokines. Normally this would help fight off the infection, but in H5N1 the cytokine release is so massive that the infection fighting cells destroy lung tissue.

This is why the vast number of fatalities in H5N1 infections are young - healthy children, teens or adults under 30.

During the past six months the fatality rate has been 78%.

No there isn't.

If you are concerned about protecting yourself from these and other diseases, you should considering taking a supplement that boosts the performance of your immune system. My family takes Immune Alert and highly recommends. On a daily basis it helps fight off all kinds of bugs -- and having a strong immune system means that if you are in contact with germs you are more likely to be able to fight them off on your own and not have to rely on medication that may not exist yet for some diseases.
