Always sad?

I just feel so sad and alone. When I'm with my friends I don't feel happy and they always ask me what's wrong. My best friend stared crying because I'm so sad and she can't help me. I don't like being sad around my family so I act like I'm happy. I just feel like this empty shell. I'm not really having problems and no one has abused me. Sometimes I just cry. . When I see my friends with their boyfriends I miss my ex. Could I be depressed? I don't understand this. I'm 17 if that helps. When I talk 2 my mom she just does not understand how I feel. She asked me if I need to talk 2 a doctor and I said no. I'm just scared.

No I don't have feelings for my ex I just miss him when I see other couples. My point is that I'm sad not over him

Yes, talk to a doctor. I always want to express my feelings out with someone who could understand me. There's only one, but that's the person who got me more depressed than ever by breaking up with me. So, Im lost in my own world. My family members wouldnt understand. I cant even talk normally, just feel so tired, want to get in my room. I cry even when Im driving, tears just come down, for no reason.
I stop talking to my friends, well, only talk to them once in a while. Develop a new habit: being by myself, living in my own world.
It hurts, but i dont think I can share it with anyone. My friends hang out with me, I smile an unhappy smiles. Smiles are all fake, laughs are all fake.
Im feeling better now, but not as Im before. So, my advice: go find someone u can trust and talk it out, or volunteer, helping others also means helping urself, and lastly, think positively, okie.
We're still young, arent we =] ?

well its maybe b/c like you say miss your ex. But try and get over it when you are out don't think about him just think about having fun. Of course your friends are going to be sad to see you sad. Boys come and go and you are 17 you are still young you shouldn't be depressed over a guy. Just know that sooner or later you will meet the right guy. Just try and relax and have fun and not think of the things that are making you sad,

You're not depressed. You are just going through teenage life. It's rubbish at times but gets better.
Change your lifestyle by taking up a hobby or going away somewhere. Going to University did it for me.
Things'll get better, but only if you don't get stuck in a rut.

The pain and loss experienced after a break-up is never easy. I may very well be deperssion. I went through the same thing when had a severe break-up 18 months ago. My county's government offered discounted mental health services, and prescriptions for medication if needed. Plus, I could see psychiratrist as well.

You may want to see if your city, county, or state's health board offers mental health services too.

The reason for sad may be due to deep thinking on all matters particularly on your future or about a trusted friend. Forget sad and go travel somewhere. seeing new faces may bring you cheers. talk your mother or a friend of problem, if any. i guess no major problem with you.

you sound like a classic text book depression !! Speaking to a Dr, will only benefit you theres nothing to be scared of or ashamed of ok? good luck

Maybe, it has alot to do with you missing your ex. But if you think that your feeling sad is getting worse and your feeling hopeless, please talk to your Dr it does'nt mean that you have to go on meds, he may have you see a therapist or something.
