I am sad. Please tell me something to cheer me up. My best friend (Max, a dog) died last week, and I am? |
still sad about it. Thank you in advance. My boyfriend doesn't want to talk about it, he says when he talks about it it makes him sad, and that I dwell on Max's death too much. Oh, I'm sorry about your loss. Pets are very important to us, that's for sure. But we know that pets don't live as long as we do, most pets that is, especially dogs. Give yourself time to get through the greiving process. Write about him. Draw pictures of him. You will always love him, that doesn't die. Years later you will share stories on how wonderful your dog was. Sorry but life is like that, sad things happen, and inevitably, eventually, happy things will follow. Good luck. Sometimes others don't truly understand how hard it can be to lose a pet and overcome the loss, so don't worry about "dwelling" for too long. You need your time to grieve, and eventually you will be able to remember Max without feeling sad once you have accepted his death. It just takes time... Sorry for you loss . I know it hurts . It's only been a week and you will mourn for Max a long time, but it will get better. Look forward to getting another dog one day - but not too soon. Think about Christmas coming and what you want to get for other people. Maybe volunteer at a shelter for animals or people - doing things for others really cheers you up. Cry it all out, whatever is necessary to make you feel better Sorry about your dog. I lost my little dachshund, Ginger, a little over a year ago. We had her 13 years. The only thing I can tell you to cheer you up is the pain from the loss lessens over time. Allow yourself to cry and feel sad. It's normal. It's only been a week. F*ck, I lost my mom three years ago and it's been excruciatingly painful. But what helps me most of all is thinking about the people who are around me, that love me and who support me. It's very comforting. Whenever you feel sad just hug your boyfriend or someone else you love. |
