Sad news!!!!!? |
why are people drawn to sad news? well im doing a servay by the way if you want to ask questions feel free to post a question I have never understood that either. People would rather see on tv, the newspaper, etc a disaster instead of something good and nice. im not I'm not either. because we know there are more people more unfortunate than us. It's in my comfort zone. Me Either. I for one am trying to help people who are having problems. How about you? why does traffic slow down to see what the damage was after a accident. misery loves company or at least ppl who are more miserable. we want to know that there are ppl worse off than we are. Its like a car crash everyone has to stop and look! I dont know. I dont read the news much and I never listen to the news on TV unless something big is happening because I dont want to hear it. ah darn i was hoping someone killed themselves for ideas of how to go myself Curiosity B/c they undertsand what despair feels like. ppl relate 2 ppl in similar situations. same reason people slow down to look at an accident...curiosity, morbid some times, also just emotion Usually because it makes people's pathetic lives feel a lot better. Poor people who watched the Hurricane Katrina disaster could take a step back and say "hey, we didn't get that bad a deal after all." We like to help people who are in need I don't beleive all people are attracted to sad news. But to those who do, it think it is the empathy within us. We put ourselves in a persons misfortunate shoes for the moment and our heart aches for them. Perhaps we recall a time when we were also in pain, and can relate. In other instances, i think that some people are drawn to to sadness and misfortunate incidents because of the hightened emotions there, perhaps not empathizing, but more feeding off of the chaos and emotions of those dealing with the sad event. Still others i beleive, automatically offer condolences or a "im so sorry" as an automated and expected response.Athough i would like to think that we all have empathy :) Sad news is all around us it comes to us in the TV or the radio or news print.... |
