Sad before sterilization?

I absolutely know that I don't want any more kids. My kids are teenagers and I'm done with babies. So why am I sad?

It's just the finalization of knowing after the procedure, we can't ever give birth again. I felt that way at 25 when I had my tubal. I had three kids and knew that I was done, but still... I know women who have had 5 or 6 kids, had the procedure and felt that melancholy. Make sure it's absolutely what you want. Let yourself be a little sad, it's normal. And think about the worry of pregnancy thereafter being nonexistent!

I think you are sad because although you don't want anymore kids, you still like having the idea that you could if you wanted... By becoming sterile, it makes you feel like you will never have the option again.. I've heard of it happening! Hope you feel better soon though, and best of luck!
