Does anyone know if there some kind of government grant, or ? that would help? |
I'm on disability for over 10 years ($900.monthly for this year) due to mental slowness that's effective stability in the work enviroment, but that's not the issue. (10 years ago) being awarded $700. monthly at that time, could not continue to live in California. With some back pay (at that time) was able to afford to relocate to the next state in rural Nevada and finding a detach small home for rent in a rental housing development, much less than a cheap apartment in California. For the most part I was able to live within my means both finacially, and health wise. It's easier in this type of dwelling to alot having pets (have 2 cats and 1 dog) that have also help in my mental health and my mh councler to back me up on that. Much advantages of living in a rural town, however not when it comes to specialty health care, having unreliabe people, poor (very lacking) transportation is an issue, but even so, the lack ammenties, especially as I get older, but years away from being a senior citizen for qualifing for those type of programs. I feel for you, can't say I know the solution....i'll look around at a few sites and see if there is anything I can come up with...in the mean time, God be with you. I saw a commercial for Astrive Student Loans and it is NOT just for tuition and books. It can also be used for room and board. You can get between $1,500 and $40,000 a year depending upon your specific needs. You can defer payment till after you graduate. Have you ever gotten paid to go to college before? You REALLY should contact your local Social Security Administration office. You mentioned SLMB, are you on SSI?? If so, there is a time-period while on SSI and then you become eligible for Medicare. Also, the SLMB would make you eligible for extra help in paying for your prescriptions. I don't know if you have an agency that works specifically with people with disabilities to get you what you need, but that may be an option. Also, a Health Insurance Information and Assistance Program (HIICAP) Counselor in your county may be able to help you as well. Your states toll free number is 1-800-307-4444 and the local number is 1-702-486-3796. While the HIICAP program is usually for seniors and health insurance related questions, as the HIICAP counselor for Cattaraugus County in NY, I handle numerous requests not limited to health insurance. Good luck. |
