Anyone ever have back surgery at L5/S1?

Last year I injured my back, I ruptured a disk at L5/S1, got the injections to shrink the disk and it did make a difference at first but I still had pain. I had a catscan with mylegram and they determined that I require surgery, a disk implant and fusion in the affected area. Anyone ever have a similar procedure and if so do you feel better or worse, the same? Thanks very much in advance.

Have not had the surgery but I work for a chiropractor and I see them all the time. Recovery is very difficult in the back due to posteur and rehabilitation methods. It is very easy to exacerbate the injury when it comes to your back. You should be feeling slight improvement but it will take time and patience. Use precautionary home methods of stretching to help ease back into life. Best wishes!
