Do you think I have a mental problem? |
Okay so I think I have a problem but I don't know it may be depression or it may be like anger problems. Depression runs in my family. But I like get mad at stupid stuff. I hate it when I'm late to something and I have like a mental breakdown. Like th other day I was getting ready for school and I couldn't put my eye line on straight and it was making me mad and I was like screaming and stuff because it took forever and I was trying to hurry cause I thought I thought I was gonna be late for school. But like my heart was racing and I though I was having a breakdown because I couldn't calm down. Or I get mad if like my best friend doesn't text me back or if she doesn't call me back. Sometimes I get so bad that I start throwing things. I always feel like I wanna runaway from home and make the great escape. I just break down and cry sometimes. And I don't know what's wrong with me? I know it probably isn't normal and i don't know if I should see a doctor or not. So what should I do? Hi friend, Yes deff see a doctor. It sounds like manic deppression with is just sudden urges to be violently angry, it happens to many people. Dont be ashamed it can be treated with a medication. That you take when you wake up, and before you go to bed. Good Luck! You are fine. It's natural for teens to go through that. Sometimes it may happen because of stress. Is there anything happening in your family or social life that you're always worrying about? The key thing is to break down when you want to break down. Write down journal entries. Take note of the reasons to why you may over react with simple things. It's important to look at a problem closely and realize that it's not something worth getting frustrated over. For me, when I feel like crying, I cry. It feels soo much better than bottling up your feelings. Talk to your friends and family, they can always make you feel better. And tell yourself that you're NOT MENTALLY ILL. Everyone goes through this. Humans are vulnerable. you sound like you are under alot of stress. you should talk to your doctor about all this stress you are having and he/she will probably prescribe you som stress pills? Not normal. Life is short dont waste it being mad all the time. If I were you I would do whatever it takes to be happy. Use the same amount of energy you use up be pissed off to doing something that is going to make you feel good. Eventually people wont want to be around you if you don't learn to loosen up. get on the pill asap ! i definetly think you should see a doctor and find out what is happing a you sound bi-polar, you need to get to a psychiatrist and be evaluated, all your mood problem are caused by a chemical in balance good -luck the sooner you see one the faster you will be on a road to recovery You may be suffering from a combination of the normal mood swings common in teens, and the stress of living in a family with depression. Extreme anger like you describe can caused by a lot of things--from hormones, to a mental illness. It sounds like you need to talk to someone and perhaps get some anger management counseling. I was the same way as a kid--the rage would come from little things--but i learned to deal with the root cause of my anger and learned ways to help myself calm down. You can too. Don't think of yourself as mentally ill--think of yourself as needing a little help managing things in your life. Talk to an adult you trust (school counselor, parent,pastor...) You need to learn anger management. I would definately go see a doctor... When I am under alot of stress and not on my medication I get extremely mad over little things. The medication I take is Citalopram, good for depression and anxiety (which I have both)... I used to be on paxil, but my doctor (psychiatrist) was concerned about weight gain with Paxil, so he switched me. |
