Report It

Rubella is also called German measles. When I was a kid, they didn't have a vaccination for it. Children got the virus. I had it when I was 5. Its a red rash with a high temperature. I know I was very sick for a few days. Apparently, having survived it, nothing else long-term was affected (to my knowledge). In general, without complications, Rubella is considered a relatively mild viral infection. Some children run extremely high temperatures if they get it. My Mom tells me I had a 105掳 temp for a short time.

I do know that Rubella is very serious if contracted when you are pregnant, especially in the early months.

If acquired by a pregnant woman it can cause: deafness, cataracts, heart defects, mental retardation, and liver and spleen damage.

When vaccinated, babies and young children are given a live, weakened form of the virus and build antibodies to the virus, preventing the full blown virus from infecting the body.

google it..sometimes you get symptoms, sometimes not..it can be a small fever, or it can be spots and a full blown thing...

There is a lots of info on the Internet.

But some strains are more potent and can kill, some are more contagious.

Use the search block at the top of this page and just type Rubella and see what shows up.

Rubella has mild symptoms, sometimes no symptoms. It can't kill you.
The only reason it is considered dangerous is that if a woman gets rubella during the first 3 months of pregnancy, it can cause disabilities in the baby. But it doesn't always.

use google.com

you have red small rashes like mneasels ...my mommy told me..

what my sister Bridget said
