Rosacea!! ...?

My older cousin has rosacea on her cheeks! Yah, she puts cover-up over it and theres no sign it was ever there, but when she removes the foundation... YIKES!!
What is the cure? Or better yet what should she do??

IPL clears this.

Tell her to try Face Doctor soap. It looks expensive for a bar of soap but it lasts for months, and for me it's the only thing that keeps my rocasea in check. I used to have bumps all over my face and tried a lot of expensive treatments, including perscription ones but Face Doctor is the ONLY one that has worked consistently, over time. Now I have nice smooth skin with only the occasional tiny zit. I also use ordinary blotting paper to reduce oily pores. With these treatments I can finally wear no make up except a little bit of concealer where I need it and look like I have naturally good skin.

Go to a dermatologist

cutanix works incredible. you can buy it from skincarerx.com I've been having trouble finding it online lately, but it works great.

Rosacea has stages in its progression. This can be from just flushing slightly Rosy to extremely painful.

She is doing good if her makeup is covering her rosacea and not inflaming it. It can even be helping her by creating a barrier between the elements which can make rosacea worse (sun & wind and extream temps), and her skin.

For a long time many DR.'s handed rosacea sufferers a pamplet, which had a lot of don't eat this, don't do that and take these pills & creams which might at first minimize the symptoms but in the long run at least for me did not work, and the do's and dont's, well we all have a life to live and it is not under a rock.

There are a lot of great Rosacea support and info sources that you can share with your cousin.

For me the life saver was drnase.com
He is a rosacea expert as well as a sufferer too. His site has a wealth of information on the latest treatments, studies and such. It is well worth the time to pass the link to your cousin and she can begin to educate herself and explore what will work for her.

Basic across all rosacea people
1 use tepid water tempature
2 use mild facial cleansers - there are a lot out there for sensitive skin & rosacea.
3 do not scrub, peel or use any products of this sort as when you agitate the face, you get red and can actually create more rosacea. (acne products - skin resurfacing products)
