Rosacea and alcohol? |
Ive got rosacea for one year now and I havnt been able to stop drinking ...it makes me angry this thing has affected every aspect of my life...so now Im eating crap food and still drinking cos I was so paranoid last year when i got it... Rosacea is exacerbated by exercise, sun/wind exposure, hot weather, stress, spicy foods, alcohol, and hot baths. Alcohol did not cause your rosacea, but it is worsening it. Eventually the capillaries in your face may remain enlarged and you may get "knobby" bumps on your face and nose. The enlarged nose symptom usually does not occur in women. Drinking isn't bad, but getting drunk in response to an illness is not a very effective way of coping. A physician can prescribe a topical preparation to treat your rosacea; please see a doctor. It is really bad for men to drink with this condition, but I have never seen a woman with an enlarged nose. If you are taking metro gel, cream or lotion without abatement, get over to a skin care center for laser treatment. |
