Restless Legs driving me crazy!!!!!!!! Please help:(?

I have restless legs that tends to go away for a month or two then comes back full force. I have tried lots of meds but none seem to work. I am getting maybe a total of 3 hrs sleep a night and my rls even keeps me awake through 5 execdrin pm's! There is no way that is normal. I need help from some people who go through this and if there is any please tell me what you do to get some sleep and make this go away!!!

I take a Xanax when my legs get restless. I have it bad, too. I was in the ER for food poisoning and they gave me phenergan. It did not knock me out, but made me tired. When I get tired, sleepy, my legs go nuts. They did on the ER bed, and I was miserable because I could not take my Xanax or walk around (which also helps).
This sounds nuts and I haven't tried it, but Dr. Gott (syndicated medical columnist) says placing a bar of soap under your sheet stops leg cramps. I heard it worked on RLS as well.. but it sounds bogus.

A lot of drugs used to Parkinson's Disease are used for Restless Legs Syndrome but it is always best to discover if it is primary or secondary to some other disease. You should go see your doctor about this. It is a real condition. Mine is secondary to kidney disease. Primary can be resolved a lot easier. Good luck!

In Rochester MN there is a Restless Legs Syndrom Specialty Clinic. I didnt see where you were at, however, Rochester is premier in their medical facilities. If you cant call there, at least see if you can fins a specialty clinic about that only...good luck - i really hope you get the help you are looking for!!

A pediatrician told me to check lables for Red dye #40 to help my daughter's ADD condition. I was amazed that it is in so many foods. Anyway, I noticed that taking it out of our diet has also helped my RLS symptoms. Another remedy for many things that has helped me is mangosteen juice, Xango. Try their website Xango.com

Go to a Dr. there are meds for this.
