How do I alleviate restless legs?

Make sure you are getting plenty of potassium, calcium, magnesium and vitamin B6.

dance to the music?

i have recently been diagnosed with restless leg syndrome, and there is medication available to help..cant remember the name though and there are different types to suit different ages and people etc ask you gp! ive suffered many years without having to sleep all night feels like it takes over your life!! take control back, surf the web go to www.rls.org , there are many forums and helpgroups online but first port of call should be your gp! hope this helps...x

Laying down, keep legs straight. Lift one foot one inch from bed till you can't hold it up any longer You must keep it up even when it trembles a bit and starts to ache. Then, when you cannot keep it up any longer, rest that one and lift the other one. And so on.
This is the only thing I know that really works
Good luck!

try doing light exercise , like walking, before you go to bed, good luck

I experience this miserable syndromeupon awakening first thing. If I try to ignore it, it just gets worse, so I get up..it then goes away. I tried Requip, but didn't seem to help..

Oh gosh, believe me I tried everything that I could think of and that was suggested to me. Finally, I had to give in and see my doctor for medication. I take a fairly new medication, it is called Lyrica.....I am very happy with it. I know that it is doing the job, because I ran myself out of it and had to wait for a prescription to come in the mail for 11 days and that quick it came back.
I highly recommend it.

Assuming this is a diagnosis from a reliable doctor and not an ill educated guess. RLS is a neurological problem. The most effective drugs so far, and these are far from ideal, are anti-Parkinson's drugs, pergolide mesylate, pramipexole, and ropinirole have been the most useful.

Mt wife's recently been to doctors about this. He's put her on Iron Tablets and Voltrarol (you could take Ibuprofen instead) and the restless leg syndrome has improved dramatically.

Do you feel tired and lethargic as well? If so, you may be anaemic and the iron tablets will help this.
