When was upper respiratory infections discovered?

Its part of my science project. I'd Like to know when it was discovered and who discovered it. If you can also include helpful links that would be great! Thank you soo much!

Who "discovered" upper resp infections? You would have to go back to Hippocrates to find the earliest descriptions of the disease. I am not sure what you are looking for. Diseases are generally not discovered by any one person. You start out with case reports that build until it is recognized as a disease by the medical community.

This is the way it worked with AIDS. First an few cases were reported of homosexual men dying from rare opportunistic infections, then a few more were reported at another location, then when enough reports had come in they started to diagnose it based on symptoms, and then scientist started looking for the virus common to all of them. Eventually it was found (more than one research lab claims credit for finding it) and lab test were developed to diagnose HIV.
