Which kind of conditions or diseases affect the respiratory system?

Could you name more than one example. Thanks.

COPD (Chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma), Acute & chronic respiratory failure, ARDS (Adult respiratory distress syndrome), common cold, influenza, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, cancers of the lungs, larynx and nose, pleurisy, atelecstasis, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary edema, bronchiectasis, pneumothorax, hemothorax, benign neoplasms of the respiratory tract and sometimes epistaxis.

Did I just do your homework for you?

Asthma, bronchitis, cancer, empasemia.

Diseases of the respiratory system can be classified into four general areas:

Obstructive Diseases (e.g., Emphysema, Bronchitis, Asthma)
Restrictive Diseases (e.g., Fibrosis, Sarcoidosis, Alveolar Damage, Pleural Effusion)
Vascular Diseases (e.g., Pulmonary Edema, Pulmonary Embolism, Pulmonary Hypertension)
Infectious, Environmental and Other Diseases (e.g., Pneumonia, Tuberculosis, Asbestosis, Particulate Pollutants)

I haven't seen Cystic Fibrosis listed, which is a genetic lung disease that affects approximately 1 of every 2500 live births among the Caucasian race. It affects all the other races as well, but not with the same frequency.

Heart disease, kidney disease, RSV, pneumonia, lung cancer, COPD, MS, MD, ASD, spinal cord injuries, prematurity...etc.

Silicosis.

Newlungs, THANK YOU for mentioning CF! I'm surprised the rather comprehensive lists above missed it. And congratulations on being 2 years out.
