Sore Throat w/ phlegm + blood pigment?

Hi all,

I am having a sore throat and it started 2 days ago. I am currently taking Erythromycin (red in colour) as the doctor felt that it might be a bacteria infection. Spat out some green phlegm and just now when I spat, I saw some brownish-red pigments on the phlegm. I am guessing its blood.

I don't cough a lot and neither do I spat out phelgm a lot. However, I feel my throat quite warm and "coarse". So, I just drink water to make it feel better. Also, my mouth "dries" up pretty fast and that forces me to drink water as well.

Can anyone give me any insights if I am suffering from some respiratory diseases or tonsilitis? Or is it just normal to see such things.

To add on, I am also taking Fedac (Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine) for my suspected cold symptoms. Could it be my cold that is causing the inflammation in my nose and it runs down to my throat?

One more thing, I kept blowing out stuffs from my nose. There are these dried substances that are yellowish/greenish in colour. I reckon that has the remains of the dead microbe. Is that correct too?

you are exactly right the sinus drainage is causing the irritation in your throat! The red-pigments is just from the sore throat, keep taking your antibiotic, drink alot of water (this will help loosen the phlegm. You can try to take some sucret or something for the sore throat maybe gargle with some warm salt water

I'd go back to the doctor if I were you. If you're coughing up blood, old or new, that's a sign that you have serious issues.
