Cervical dysplasia?

Could irregular periods be realated to cervical dysplasia? if so, how and what does this mean for reproductive health? i've visited a doctor and have to go in for a follow-up pap after a colposcopy result showing precancerous cells, but i've been having irregular periods since about june. the doc told me it's probably nothing, just changes in lifestyle (college graduation, unemployment, first real job, weight loss, etc.). Any opinions would be helpful. THanks!

Cervical dysplasia could turn into carcinoma, but the time frame of that change varies from one woman to the next. Precancerous cells are cells prone to turn to carcinoma, but ARE NOT cancerous at this time. Your irregular periods could be from many things just as your Dr. said. I know how scary this can be be my mother died from cervical cancer 21 years ago and I had cervical cancer 11 years ago. My mother died because the advancements were not there as they are today. I had surgery and I have had clean paps since and also I have 2 daughters after the fact. Be sure that you do as your Dr says and you'll be fine.

You can search for an answer in wikipedia, they've got lots of articles there!

I had cervical cancer and dysplasia. I had a cone biopsy and they asked me if I planned on having anymore children. If I did, they were going to leave part of my cervix. They left part of my cervix and were successful in removing the cancer and dysplasia. I had a baby 6 years later. No complications. And no, I don't think irregular periods have anything to do with dysplasia. Hope this helps.

I was actually diagnosed with the same thing after my third baby was born. I went in for all of my paps and everything turned out ok. It was more or less changes from having a baby. As far as reproductive health I just had my fourth baby and we're both healthy, and my postpartum pap came back fine. If your doc doesn't seem too concerned I wouldn't worry about it.(I know it's hard).

If you didn't get the answers that you desired from the doctor then perhaps you should get a second opinion.

There's plenty of things that could cause a period to be irregular, not just dysplasia. So it's not necessarily related to cervical dysplasia, no.

If ur really busy minded about and concerned about lots of stuff, this can affect ur period and it has nothing to do with ur cervical dysplasia..
FROM THE MAIN CAUSES OF CANCER CEERVIX IS HAVING MULTIPLE SEXUAL PARTNERS ESPECIALLY IF UR SEXUALLY ACTIVE IN A YOUNG AGE........BECAREFUL
