Chlamydia as a teen?

When I was 18 I lost my virginity. About 4 months after that, I went to get my normal check up and to get put on the pill. My Dr. told me that my pap came back abnormal, and upon futher testing discovered that my BF had given me Chlamydia. I was so mad at him. She went ahead and treated me right away. Knowing that I lost my virginity 4 months prior to this and had NOT been with anyone else, I knew it was him, but that is another can of worms. So my question is this: I know that chlamydia can cause you all kinds of reproductive health problems IF you DONT get it taken care of. Since I did my Dr told me that I shouldn't have any problems steming from this and to avoid doing anything with him until he was treated and we did. Now it has been 11 years, and I have been with DH for 6 yrs now and married a little over one, am wondering if I might have gotten more damage than previously thought? We have had one MC 3 yrs ago, but no pregnancy since. What are your opinions/experiences about this?

Chlamydia is a very common STD... Why? I dunno. I guess you have to be careful about who you are dating and who they are dating and who they are dating. I was and never contracted an STD.

Miscarriages are actually common too. Ask a room of 20 women age 25 or over if they have ever missed a period or two and then got their period back after having the heaviest period they have ever had. Most likely they miscarried but either were not concerned or where just happy to not be pregnant.

The have two types of advice for you. First, have a doctor take a look at your reproductive system. It will be uncomfortable and perhaps even a bit painful but then so is rearing a child so what do you have to lose? Second....

On the first day of your next period, mark a calendar. On the 10th day start the love making. Both you and your husband should abstain from alcohol, cigarettes and anything else not considered healthy for sperm production (including working out or sitting in a spa). Every woman has a different cycle. Some ovulate on day 14... most do NOT. Continue a nightly love making ritual until day 18.

Should this NOT work... Get a kit that tells you when you are ovulating. Use it the first month dry... as in, not trying to get pregnant... Just trying to get a base reading. So if it says ovulation has begun on the 12th day and the 11th hour, keep track of that. Now the next month begin love making on day 11. And do the test... If it still says 12th day, 11th hour, keep love making for 3 more days.

Did it work? If not... Tell a doctor.

If you really want to experience being a child rearing mother do realize that it might take you some time. How long did it take you to graduate high school? 12 years? I am sure you can see where I am going with this. Having a child is a huge amount of work (after the baby is born) so consider some extra time before hand as small in comparison.

Good luck!

since you got it treated right away, there are probably no side effects. don't worry so much about it.
There are other factors that would affect your ability to get pregnant way more than that did.

Your doctor is correct that if left untreated can create reproductive problems such as difficulty becoming pregnant. I believe that it is safe to say that since you were treated fairly early on then it will not create any long term difficulties. Sometimes it takes women at least a year to become pregnant especially if they had been on the pill prior to trying to conceive. I would give it some time. If you are truly concerned then talk to your doctor and they can check you out and run tests if necessary to see if there is an underlying problem. Remember this though: you are most fertile the week before and the week after your period.

it is impossible to say whether or not the chlamydia caused any damage to your tubes without very specialized testing. however, the fact that you are infertile leads me to think there is some sort of problem, chlamydia damage or otherwise. see an infertility specialist if you are trying to get pregnant.
