Help! Is there any other way to cure renal disease other than dialysis & transplant? |
My dad is on dialysis since 1 year, he is 60 yrs old & doctors say transplant is not possible because he is diabetic, & has weak lungs & heart.... he's fed up with dialysis so do we.... kindy help me .... I HATE TO TELL YOU THIS BUT DIALYSIS IS NOT A CURE FOR KIDNEY FAILURE.IT IS A TREATMENT DONE TO KEEP KIDNEY PATIENTS ALIVE AND AS HEALTHY AS POSSIBLE IF PATIENT FOLLOWS DOCTORS ORDERS.I WORK IN THIS FIELD SO I KNOW WHAT HE HAS TO DEAL WITH.LET ME ASK YOU THIS,WHAT DOES HIS DOCTOR SAY ABOUT A POSSIBILITY OF HIS KIDNEY FUNCTION RETURNING?IF HIS ANSWER IS NO POSSIBILITY, THEN DIALYSIS IS THE ONLY ANSWER IF HE WANTS TO STAY ALIVE.I AM SORRY TO BE SO BLUNT BUT THIS IS THE TRUTH.I CAN'T SAY I KNOW WHAT HE IS GOING THROUGH, BUT I SEE WHAT MY PATIENTS GO THROUGH AND I KNOW IT MUST BE REALLY HARD FOR THEM.LIKE I SAID THOUGH,IT IS BETTER THAN THAN DYING. I do not think there is, I am sorry. I wish you and your dad luck. |
